On McNealy leaving Sun
Been hearing rumors for a while, but I was not able to really picture him leaving. McNealy has been very entertaining to watch over the years. Remember his Java ring?
C|net has some McNealy quotes from over the years. I have a couple of favorites:
• "I've always argued the best way to keep your teenager off drugs is buy him a Pentium Pro, give him NT and Microsoft Office and a printer, and tell him you get $500 if you can print something out of PowerPoint on that printer. That will take him six months of drug-free activity. I think that's probably the best thing you could possibly do for your teenager."
and
• "I enjoy my wife enough to now have four children."

Multiple Monitors
The New York Times has an interesting article on the productviy gains of using multiple monitors. I have been using multiple monitors since the mid-80's on ConcurrentDOS from Digital Research. It is indeed hard to go back to a single monitor setup.

Instructional Videos
Maybe you have seen these Japanese videos showing tricks on how to do various things like folding a t-shirt, peeling a potato, and keeping your BandAid on all day - this one is quite clever.
Here is a new one about getting powders to disolve well in liquids.

New Media Player for Windows
Microsoft is on track to release the Windows XP version of Windows Media Player 11 before the end of June and is building it into the Vista operating system.
The software will offer better synching with portable devices, make it easier to scroll through long libraries of music and is tightly integrated with a new subscription and download music service.
